Yes it has everything to do with being saved or unsaved; it is the power of the cross to enable us to overcome in life.
First -- I might understand your tradition more than one who is not pentecostal. Secondly, what Lance refers to as "spirit baptism" is not the same as your reference if you use the phrase "baptized or filled with the Spirit with evidence of speaking in tongues." Is this what you mean. Most pentecostals I know who use the above phrase believe that salvation does not occur until there is a tongues experience.
