JD, I don't bind God to anything - after all it's His
Word I study but once again it appears to be
"different strokes for different folks" You seem
to respect "hermeneutics" and all that so go for it.
The scriptures I cite below apparently don't mean
anything to you However when Paul writes
"This is the third time I am coming to you.
In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall
every word be established" he speaks of a
spiritual principal familiar to those who know God, His
Word, and His
ways.
When Jesus tells the Jews "It is also
written in your law that the testimony of two men is
true.
I am one that bear witness of myself, and
the Father that sent me bears witness of me"
He is speaking of the same
principle. Since you are so disinterested I won't quote the
others.
So it's good enough for Moses, Jesus, and Paul - but JD
rejects it because it does not line up with
hermeneutical rules. Jesus - God the
Word says "If you abide in Me and My words abide in
you"
He said nothing about having
the right hermeneutical rules to qualify. Why do you put this yoke
on
others JD?

I prefer to call it a scriptural principal rather than a rule. Paul uses it is 2 Cor 13:1; Jesus speaks of it in
Matt 18:16; and he reminds the Jews about it in John 8:17; the writer of Hebrews mentions it in
Heb 10:28 and you can find it under the Old Covenant in Numbers 35:30; Deuteronomy 17:16; 19;15.
Judy, you have no hermeneutical rules whatsoever. If it sounds good to you, it is the voice of God in Script. Sad. Case in point? All of the above. Not a single scripture applies to the establishment of "divine and revealed truth." Not a single scripture in the above applies to any subject except the discipline of one man against another. Such is a legal principle in use today. You take a very specific application, a very consistent application, broaden it into a "principle," and bind God this "rule" of yours.
