Caroline: I'm not an expert of Hebrew but the people who gave us the modern translations are.

jt: Are they?  Upon what basis do you make this claim Caroline?

JD: come on Judy.   Basis?   The fact that you have a Bible to read is proof enough.

jt: Oh really?  And should the fact that there are some good heart surgeons out there cause me to allow some witch doctor
who says he knows what he is doing to operate on me?  Just because ppl claim expertise does not necessarily mean they
possess it.

And is it the English KJV  that is inspired?

jt: Sigh!  God's Word is inspired JD.

Those poor Russians, Chinese, Japs, Outer Mongolians.   They are just screwed, right?  If their translations are good
enough, so are all the others.
jt: I have no idea and God has not burdened me with responsibility for them or for their translations; I have enough going on
in my own backyard.

Why not bring something of interest to the table of counsel rather than no, no, no .

jt: TABLE OF COUNSEL???  This whole subject is of interest - to me at least.
What IYO is the advantage of the newer versions?
