the way, I agree with you that Christ is seated at the right hand of the Father
in heaven; that is why I was careful to say that I think "'the
Law' which is placed in the heart of believer's is Christ himself (in the Spirit)."
Bill Bill, I am sure we all agree that if one has the Holy Spirit
indwelling and is transformed from the inside out that we will MORE than keep
the Laws/Commandments of Christ. That does not, however, mean that we
will have contempt for the Law, or think that we are above the Law, or that the
Law is no longer relevant, or belittle God’s Law or those who love it.
It means we will cherish the Law all the more as God’s Word, and will
think of it as the minimum standard of behavior, as love goes beyond the
Law. (as Jesus did for us.) Those with transformed hearts not only love
and understand the Law; they keep it without having to be prodded or shamed
into it, as obedience springs forth effortlessly. The Law alone will
carefully apply a Band-Aid to someone’s skinned knee. The Law in a
transformed heart also applies hugs and kisses to the wounded. Why you
would think those of us who love God’s Laws/Word would think otherwise is
puzzling to me. Perhaps you are thinking less than the best of us? Izzy |
