Walking in this JD involves spiritual discernment because we have to voluntarily separate ourselves from indwelling sin
and choose against it daily as the apostle Paul does in Romans 7:14 where he says that when he does what he hates it is not him (the new man) but sin that dwells in him because in his flesh dwells no good thing.  Paul says the law is good and he delights in it inwardly but there is another law working in his members (this is why we must exercise our senses to discern between good and evil) - and walk after the Spirit..... (Lest you argue that Paul is talking about himself before Christ, he had been a believer for at least 20yrs when he wrote the book of Romans).

Scripture for this?

Whosoever abideth in Him sinneth not, whosoever sinneth has not seen Him, neither knows Him (1 John 3:6)
He that commits sin is of the devil for the devil sins from the beginning (1 John 3:8)
For this purpose the Son of God was manifest to destroy the works of the evil one (1 John 3:9)

If we say that we have fellowship with Him and walk in darkness we lie (1 John 1:6)
He that says I know Him and keeps not His commandments is a liar (1 John 2:4)
Hereby we do know that we know Him if we keep His commandments (1 John 2:3)
But whoso keeps His Word, in Him verily is the love of God perfected (1 John 2:5)

He that has my commandments and keeps them, he it is that loves Me (John 14:21)
If a man loves Me he will keep my Words (John 14:23)
He that doesn't love me doesn't keep my sayings (John 14:24)

He that doeth the will of God abideth forever (1 John 2:17b)
But we have an unction from the Holy One and know all things (1 John 2:20)
I haven't written because you don't know the truth but because you know it and that no lie is of the truth (1 John 2:21)

Whosoever is born of God does not commit sin for His seed remaineth in him and
he can not sin because he is born of God. (1 John 3:9)
A new commandment I give unto you that ye LOVE one another as I have loved you (John 23:34)
I write no new commandment but an old commandment which ye had from the beginning,
the old commandment is the Word which ye have from the beginning (2 John 5)
Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself, I am the Lord (Leviticus 19:18)
Let that therefore abide in you which ye have heard from the beginning (1 John 2:24)

His love and His grace do not "cover" sin.  They empower us to part with it.   judyt
