A quick poll for TT:
Who here believes in limited atonement or universal atonement? In other
words, did Jesus die for the sins of the saved or the sins of all men?
John 3:16 for all? That is my wild guess.
Who here believes in predestination, double predestination or universal
access? In other words, are some people predestined by God to be saved, some
to be damned or is it God's will that all be saved and it is our will that
decides the final outcome?
Can one's salvation be lost? Why or Why not?
Caroline -- I wonder what we really mean by "salvation?" I have previously (in my errant conservative life) believed that "salvation" was "getting to be with God in heaven." Now? I am thinking that being with God in heaven is a reward -- but that "salvation" is more along the lines of being saved form ourselves, from our sins (I understand "sin" to be those things noted by God and fully capable of destroying the "sinner" ----------- self destruction.) Or, perhaps, we could consider "salvation" as a new and Divinely appointed DIRECTION. If we don't define "salvation" in terms of the reward, what do we say it is if not "direction" (this is not the onlyu contextual use of the word )
