What informs you otherwise? Following are some of the passages that teach me hell is at the center of the earth. I would love to hear you comment on these passages, but past experience tells me that you will probably pass on that. :-) Matthew 12:40 (40) For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. Numbers 16:28-33 (28) And Moses said, Hereby ye shall know that the LORD hath sent me to do all these works; for I have not done them of mine own mind. (29) If these men die the common death of all men, or if they be visited after the visitation of all men; then the LORD hath not sent me. (30) But if the LORD make a new thing, and the earth open her mouth, and swallow them up, with all that appertain unto them, and they go down quick into the pit [Sheol]; then ye shall understand that these men have provoked the LORD. (31) And it came to pass, as he had made an end of speaking all these words, that the ground clave asunder that was under them: (32) And the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up, and their houses, and all the men that appertained unto Korah, and all their goods. (33) They, and all that appertained to them, went down alive into the pit [Sheol], and the earth closed upon them: and they perished from among the congregation. This last passage is particularly interesting in that it speaks about Korah and his men descending into hell directly ALIVE by the earth opening up and swallowing them. Pay special attention to how this was a very UNUSUAL event, something other men have not experienced. Peace be with you.
