JD, I’m just wondering what another glorious “degree” could possibly benefit someone who can’t pass basic scripture reading.  It’ll be about as impressive as a tuxedo on an orangutan.  Izzy

If I am wrong JD you have an obligation  to explain to me how and why in the balance and context What does this mean  " in balance and in context?"  Be specific, Judy,  i.e. "in balance" is   .....    "in context" is .....   of God's Word rather than continually expound on some "larger context" that makes no sense at all to anyone who has spent any time in the scriptures or given them more than a surface perusal..Judy, within the next couple of years  I will complete yet another graduate degree and do so in an Assembly of God school  (not exactly a centre of liberal and neo-liberal thought).  My point?   I am not one who sluf's through bible study in  his house slippers and soft pink robe.    I work at my Bible study  --  and I will say that I suspect that I spend considerable more time in study than you.   So I challenge you to a "study competion."   We leave the personals alone and  compare bible verses, word studies (Strongs or whoever) and personal comments.  In the end, we may see each other in a far different light than at present.     When you speak of being "in love" with Christ - to me it sounds very California - very Hollywood.  I don't care what it sounds like to you.   Why should I? but what do you do  --  you give your personal and negative opinion and then, YOU PROCEED FROM THERE  --  you build upon this personal and negative opinion.     When ppl marry those they don't really know they are in for a rude awakening at some point not far down the road.  So we should get to know the Lord before we whatever?   With Christ we don't have that option, the virgins with no oil in their lamps don't get to go to the marriage supper (and please don't tell me that this is only written for Jewish virgins since there is just one marriage supper) Dang !!  you took away my big argument !!!   What do you think  --   that I am against works?  Against obedience?   Guess again.   You are much too busy fighting the eviiiiiiil "liberals" to read and accept what they say.  Slow done.   find out what "we" believe and then deal with that.   Assume we are honest and we will do the same for you.
