Understanding illumined by the Holy Spirit is the only kind I've spoken of and the only kind I am interested in.
If He is not revealing God's Word to you it is a closed book - so exactly how is Kevin in error on this one when
he quotes scripture verbatim?  Let's just put it this way JD.  Without "inspired understanding" you are out there
on your own in spite of the "Christ event" walking in the dark and unaware of which way you are going. jt

Think about it, Kev.   When you and Miller and Judy starting preaching "inspired understanding"  nonsense,

you are really exhalting your own private interpretation  !!!     It is you who is in error on this one.

Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.

The point that you miss, Judy, is that this New Covenant thing is a personal circumstance rather than a national concept.  I, in fact,  believe very much in God's assistance in all aspects of my walk with Him  --   including bible study.   The miracle of it all is found in the knowing that He can and does work maturity as we study  (give attention)  in showing ourselves approved.   This "maturity" is a growth process  --   moving away from personal sin,  moving away from our carnal nature, moving away from bad ideas and misunderstandings,  moving away from anger with the Brethren.   And so I am blessed by Him,  even when I am wrong.   The brothers in Romans 14  (the holy day fellow and the "vegetarian")  were poorly informed while God, at the same time, was working His will in them through faith.  Your view of "inspired interpretation" gives you  (an imagination) a corporate or national view of a given passage  -------------   therefore,  all who disagree with your view are heretics on that point.     The problem  is that the total interpretive package,  your "theology,"  does not line up exactly with anyone else's  (something we all have to deal with.)
