Hence my opening
comment. Still no reason to leave off the message of love. I
am hoping that is not your message, however. I have read of your
ministry for nearly two years, now. Awesome, in many respects.
Look, I do not think a rebuking ministry is totally out of
place. But it is not to be the exclusive presentation. Neither
is love. If our rebukes are not tempered by love and obvious
concern, we really only have a message of hate. Again,
this is not a personal assessment -- not by a long
shot. I hope that those to whom you preach see the love and
concern you have for them. If that is not present, you (and
all of us) are in the wrong business. Correct???
No argument there, but I would never
use people as a dip stick to take a reading on how much love I have. If that was our standard everyone in the
Bible had no love. The Book of Acts
for example, when these men preached two happened. Revival or riot. There is no ministry of love and
ministry of rebuke. 2 Timothy 4:2
âPreach the word; be instant in season, out of season, rebuke, reprove, exhort
with all longsuffering and doctrineâ
Preaching the word gives me license to preach on any subject and not just
God loves you. This is not my
ministry, gift or calling JD, but my duty as a Christian. Out of the abundance of the heart the
mouth speaks, one on one or one on fifty thousand. |
