DAVEH:  I'm not sure how your response is pertinent to my question, Judy.   I believe the devils rejected Jesus in the pre-mortal existence, and were thence tossed out of heaven, giving up their chance to come to earth and take a mortal body through the process  we know as birth.   We go through a process of both physical and spiritual death, both of which put us in a position of being in hell, so to speak.  Jesus' sacrifice made it possible for us to overcome both those barriers between us and heaven.       Since those who followed Satan (and were ejected from heaven) never became mortal, Christ's ressurective grace does not apply to them.  Likewise, since they have rejected him, neither does his atoning sacrifice apply to them.      I don't know how much of what I explained you agree with, but that's how I perceive it.  Do you disagree?
