jt: Yes, as the Word He spoke the worlds into existence and in God's time he provided a body so that He became the Word made flesh which I don't find illogical at all but then why should God be bound by the laws of logic? 

 

David M didn't find that illogical. I guess it's not illogical if one thinks of it dualistically,

 

jt: Now you are talking like Gary O; it's not dualistic thinking - it is being spiritually minded.  God is Spirit and it is impossible to understand His Word using an old carnal mindset.  It takes the mind of Christ.

 

i.e., if Jesus is like a Caramilk bar where the chocolate is human and the caramel is divine, or if he is like Superman and Clark Kent and switches back and forth, or if he is God with an overlay or disguise of flesh.

 

jt: If you understand the New Birth where the Spirit of Christ comes to indwell a person who from this point on reckons the old man dead and walks after the Spirit you will be able to understand how God the Word could have layed aside the glory He had with the Father and taken upon Himself a flesh body in the likeness of men.  His mind was not hampered by indwelling sin causing Him to grow in stature and grace like no other man and when he was ready for ministry He was anointed by the Spirit of God (at His Baptism).  However, during His earthly ministry He was as limited by his humanity as the rest of us so far as weariness and emotional temptation.  This is why we are told that the works He did we are to do also

This is possible for the body of Christ when the gifts he sent to the Church operate the way they should.

DavidM is one of the few who understand and walk in this.

 

But I don't think that captures who he is, so I am stuck with the illogic.

 

jt: Probably because you are stuck in a "traditional" mindset. I gave up on the legacy of the rcc a long time ago and this is where all of that is rooted.  Some are trying to build bridges back there. I say "No way"  I would prefer to be an out and out sinner and stone cold than a luke warm professer holding to

a form of godliness.

 

 It doesn't frustrate me though (not being a rationalist), it calls forth awe in me.  Debbie
