I agree that Mormon should be capitalized, but why would you expect Perry to show respect for your religeon when he has repeatedly said that it is a cult? Would that not be hypocritical on his part?

Refusing the accepted convention of capitalizing "mormon" is tantamount to saying "nigger" as a substutute for "Black." I have noticed people who use the word "nigger" in their writing often don't capitalize it, either.[EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote:In a message dated 6/28/2005 8:16:53 A.M. I can see your point. But, when talking to mormons using the word Trinity
seems to make the difference between what I believe and what they believe . . . etc."Blaine: "Mormon" is a proper noun and therefore should be spelled beginning with a capital letter. My spelling checker will not allow the word to pass as correctly spelled w/o it being capitalized. My spelling checker, btw, is not a "Mormon" spelling checker. :>) It simply follows the same rule for all words that refer to religion, race, etc, as needing to be capitalized, which is just another way of showing appropriate respect to the persons being referred to. If, for example, I begin writing "Christian" as christian, my spelling checker immediately calls for a change, in the first place, and in the second place, most Christians would then notice my show of disrespect, especially if I continued doing it after being corrected. Since I have already pointed this out to Perry on at least two other occasions, it is apparent that Perry refuses to show due and proper respect for Mormon persons in general and myself in particular by his continued choosing to spell the word with lower-case letters.Perry has already admitted to a verbal attack on DaveH as a "sly old mormon boy." Actually, his spelling of "mormon" as a common noun in the same sentence may be said to constitute a double attack on Dave.As another TT'r recently stated, our moderator needs to moderate himself!__________________________________________________
