The big difference Debbie is that Solomon's writings
are scripture - inspired by God's Spirit and included in
the Hebrew scriptures. The so called church
fathers were living and writing during a very tumultous time in
history
and their writings are not included. I guess God
figured we had enough examples already of what not to do and
the consequences for hard headedness :).

I agree with you here, Judy, and what's more, I
think it is a pretty significant statement about the people God chooses to
speak through, and shows why ad hominem arguments are without value. I
guess this means we have to stop invoking the [alleged] carnality of everybody
in the 4th century as grounds that we can dismiss what they said.
Smiley.

Yes, the choices he made for his own life were
stupid. He lost the kingdom and his children suffered
for them, but his writings were inspired by the
same Spirit who inspired the rest of scripture. judyt

Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter:
Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this [is] the whole [duty] of
man. ECC 12:13
Was Solomon stupid?

the Commandments
SO you keep them Dave?
All of them?
If your boss gave you 10 instructions to
follow every day at work, would you expect employee of the month for
keeping just 8?Dave <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

However, I am curious as to your explanation. Do you really
believe the Lord does not expect you to keep the commandments?

DAVEH: What part of the Law God gave Moses
do you think was unkeepable, Terry?
==============================================================
Since
Paul says that if you break one law you have broken the whole law, I
would say the whole law was unkeepable. If I were a Jew living
under the law, I would have broken most of them. If I were
under that law today I would have broken most of them. Thank
God, I am not under the law.
How many of them do you
keep?
