I am currently transcribing a graduate course on "first world (that's us) re-evangelization." What Gary is saying, below is the very point of the first 5 sessions. The two profs take the position that a truer biblical division (more so than the OT and the NT) is Gen. 1-11 and Gen 12 to the end of the Revelation.
They see a cycle of activity - grace, sin , judgment, and grace once again. A& E had the grace of the garden, their sin, God's judgments on each and the grace of allowing them to live and continue their lives. Cain was graced with a family , his sin against Able, God's judgment and grace again (protection from others for Cain. .................... right down the line to Babel.... We have the grace of community, the sin of man going it alone without God, God's judgment (dispersion) and, and , and,,,,, Abraham !! If we see Abraham as just another story of great men, that is one thing. But if we see Abraham as the 2nd grace -- the end of the cycle - the answer to the very judgments of God HImself -- and that this 4th cycle is th
e rest of human history --- wow, it is all so very different.

For in Christ Jesus..The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love..(Gal 5)gOn Mon, 4 Jul 2005 14:28:15 -0400 "David Miller" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> writes:
