"The Word of God teaches us to understand the
difference between arguing someone into the kingdom of heaven and proclaiming
the gospel. The former is impossible, for it gives far too much power and
authority to sinful human reason. Human reason is truly a gift from God that
permits one to look at creation and from it draw conclusions. Human reason walks
in the realm of Law, that is, what one must do or not do.Yet human reason is
tainted with sin. It is unable to accept the proclamation of the Gospel because
reason, by its nature, is legalastic and demands a role as an active agent in
salvation. Although creation is a gift from God's power, it does not reveal the
humility of the conception, life, death and resurrection of God, that is Jesus
the Messiah. These truths are proclaimed--not proven--by the Word of God."
