What Word of God is this fellow reading?

"And when they had appiointed him a day, there came many to him into his lodging, to whom he
expounded and testified the kingdom of God, persuading them concerning Jesus, both out of the law of
Moses, and out of the prophets, from morning till evening.  And some believed the things which were
spoken, and some believed not" (Acts 28:23)

I figure SP's probably get the same ratio since only those with some interest will stop and listen long
enough to hear anything; but hey a few is better than none.  Where is this Cowdrey person at Kevin?  jt

"The Word of God teaches us to understand the difference between arguing someone into the kingdom of heaven and proclaiming the gospel. The former is impossible, for it gives far too much power and authority to sinful human reason. Human reason is truly a gift from God that permits one to look at creation and from it draw conclusions. Human reason walks in the realm of Law, that is, what one must do or not do.Yet human reason is tainted with sin. It is unable to accept the proclamation of the Gospel because reason, by its nature, is legalastic and demands a role as an active agent in salvation. Although creation is a gift from God's power, it does not reveal the humility of the conception, life, death and resurrection of God, that is Jesus the Messiah. These truths are proclaimed--not proven--by the Word of God."  Wayne L. Cowdrey.
