Yes, there is much harder evidence than this. Many people pray, and many
people get answers. The kind of answer they get might not be the truth.
Have you not read how the Lord sent a lying spirit into the mouths of his
prophets (1 Kings 22)? Read 2 Thess. 2:11 - "God shall send them strong
delusion, that they should believe a lie." Consider the words of Jeremiah
too:
Jeremiah 14:14
(14) Then the LORD said unto me, The prophets prophesy lies in my name: I
sent them not, neither have I commanded them, neither spake unto them: they
prophesy unto you a false vision and divination, and a thing of nought, and
the deceit of their heart.
Jeremiah 23:16-17
(16) Thus saith the LORD of hosts, Hearken not unto the words of the
prophets that prophesy unto you: they make you vain: they speak a vision of
their own heart, and not out of the mouth of the LORD.
(17) They say still unto them that despise me, The LORD hath said, Ye shall
have peace; and they say unto every one that walketh after the imagination
of his own heart, No evil shall come upon you.
The Bible teaches us to judge what prophets say, because there have been
many false prophets who have gone out into the world.
If you want scientific, what about the Book of Abraham that Joseph claimed
to have translated? At the time, the Egyptian language was not understood,
but Joseph claimed to be able to translate it the same way he translated the
Book of Mormon. Well, now we understand the Egyptian language, and when we
look at the papyri that he had translated, they turn out to be funeral
documents which were completely mistranslated by Joseph Smith. The images
on the documents were damaged and Joseph Smith restored them incorrectly and
misinterpreted the symbols on them. Is there any greater scientific proof
than this that Joseph Smith was a fraud and a false prophet?
