There are over 1.4 billion people who claim the name of Jesus Christ in a Christian sense.   You would think that your doctrine of "unity" would find  even one assemblage of saints who speak and think the same thing  ---   I look and such is nowhere to be found.   NOWHERE.  Apparently you now believe that all within the "church" are of a carnal mind except you  --  because NO ONE agrees with you in total. 

 

Agreement, peace, and laying down ones life is not natural to that creation.  Swimming with the sharks is.  Swimming with the sharks is certainly not "natural" around here!!!

 

It certainly does not exist here on TT and we have been actively pursuing doctrinal agreement for sometime, now.  

 

Who has been actively pursuing it JD?  Not you that's for sure.  You have been busy aquiring and reading all

of Lance and Bills favorite theologians and you show great disdain for Kevin a preacher of the Word.  Not good for a start.

 

And you have been busy saying "yes" to DM and lapping up Dakes false teachings  -- your denial of the eternal Sonship of Christ comes right out of Dakes  .................. Now, before you proceed, think about how my accusations make you feel.  They are upsetting.   What I just did was give you a taste of your own medicine.   You and DM rather enjoy presenting me as one with half a brain, one who does not think and study for himself.   There is Lance, Bill,  Gary and poor old dumb John Smithson.  

 

 

Here is the fact of the matter:  I never  share without a view to persuasion.   It is lurking there, somewhere in the back of my mind.   But I am not so blinded by that desire as to approach a discussion with a closed mind.  

 

Our Mormon friends actually think they are in the "faith once delivered."  

 

Our Mormon friends are following the teachings of the angel of light who appeared to Joseph Smith.

So do the Baptists and Preby's and Methodonists, and the poor old Episcopals and most definitely the RCC and the Apostolics and the E.V Free but not Cheap and , the multitude of "non-denominational types, the Oneness folk  and , and,   need I go on?  

 

No, there are approximately 500 of them and what does that prove other than that mankind is looking for something

other than God's Word to lead Him.  Flesh wants to look to flesh but this is not God's way.. the fruit of the flesh is more flesh and carnality just like the offering of Cain.

 

It "proves" that your doctrine of unity based upon doctrinal agreement is skewed. 

 

In light of the tears of Christ for unity   (Joh n 17), this very issue is perhaps the most important of all.   The standard simply cannot be anything that is based on thinking things out.   You and I have proven this to be true  --  you and I alone.   JD

 

We will never make it JD so long as it is us and Jesus and ... TFT, and Polyani, and Greek Words, and different translations and German Bible scholars like Barth.  This is all ichabod so far as God is concerned.  We either believe him or we don't.  We have His Word and we have the Promise,

 

what more do we need?

Greek words, Polyani, TFT, each other, the eternal Son, the eternal Spirit and the eternal FAther  .........  that is what we need.   Understand that Polyani and Torrance are representatives of "each other."   Oh, and you left off DM, DAke and Strong?

I agree, doctrines are always divisive. Agreement comes when we yield to the faith once delivered to the saints and yield our lives to God the Word.  jt
