If only we had such a view into the unseen realm and could see how many

I do not fault Bush.   I hear two military leaders speak of a 6 to 7 year stay  --   that will not happen.  No one will support such  --  especially if we are being killed at the rate of 2 or 3 per day with no end in sight.
