DAVEH:  It wasn't so much an actual answer regarding your question, but rather an explanation of how I view the Sonship and creation of Jesus.  In the course of numerous posts in the past, I've explained that I believe Jesus is the literal Son of our Heavenly Father, and as such is genetically related to his Father in Heaven contrasted to us being spiritually (not in the sense most Christians think when they use the term spiritual) related by our creation in the pre-mortal existence.  Had he not been born of a virgin, there would not have been a genetic link to deity.  That is in my opinion why there had to be a virgin birth.

DAVEH:  I've explained it in the past Judy, but few TTers accept my LDS biased perspective.

Izzy, do you also believe that Jesus was born with a body of sinful flesh?
If this is so then can you or anyone explain to me why there had to be a virgin birth?  judyt
