jt: Don't you believe it is possible to be honestly
deceived JD?
What about fascination with Gk and philosophy and
speculative theology? When ppl refuse to love the whole
unvarnished truth then God Himself will send them
strong delusion so that they might believe the lie.... jt

Aaahhh. Refuse to deal with the issue at hand.
Ignore, ignore, ignore. At all costs, do not answer JD's questions. Do
you know how to spell transparent?
Deception, for the saint, is just like any other sin
issue -- we are led away BY OUR OWN LUSTS.
There will be no flat foreheads in hell, Judy. There will be
no honest people there. The difference between the kind
of lie that finds one eventually lost and the truth that saves is more than
obvious -- having, if you w ill, an ontological appeal or
value. Head knowledge has nothing, per se, to do with being
lost. Living for self, autonomy, serving those desires that destroy
our ability to cherish good and hate the evil -- that is "being
lost." Very specific wording on my part. The drug addict
who cannot get off heroin but knows the difference between good and evil in his
life has as much a chance for salvation as does Linda Shields.

The problem is that - IT IS POSSIBLE
TO DECEIVE THE SAINTS - If this were not possible then why so
many warnings all over the NT to "Be not deceived, - God is not mocked" and "I fear lest
by any means, as the
serpent deceived Eve through his sublety, so your mindsshould be
corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ
(2 Cor 11:3) For if
some real smart theologian comes and preaches another Jesus, whom we have not
preached,
or if ye receive another spirit which ye have not
received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might
well bear with him (my paraphrase) jt

Sooooooooooooooo, you just ignore the part that says, " ... mislead, if it were possible even the elect" ?If I read you correctly, you can drop those words and have the verse say exactly the same thing? So why the words?JD

BT has his mentors, as well. You have yours.Secondly, the passage quoted I understood to be saying that it was not possible to to deceive the saints. That was my point. Where is the problem?JD
The problem seems to be that you could not understand the whole verse. You took from it what you wanted and ignored the
parts that shows you to be in error....again.
