PRECISELY MR. WATSON. God's self-revelation is not possible apart from His willingness to accommodate our limitations - to condescend to those of lower estate. Our place in His Light gives us an instinctive knowing that there is more - much much more to the Divine Picture. And while we wait for continued revelation -- sometimes we make the mistake of "filling in the blanks." I am pentecostal and I see this shortcoming expressed over and over again within the charismatic traditions. Many of "us" will see demons and miracles where there are none (I believe in demons and miracles, by the
way). But the non-charismatics commit the same offense when they argue against such possibilities. That "murky window" you refer to is such, in part, because of misguided understandings and "false" doctrines
in addition to the obvious immaturities that define our "limitations."
Of course you know this -- I am just thinking out loud.
I caught the part about "good company" and YOUR agreement with Torrance, by the way. :-) A most agreeable comparison, IMO.

He is in very good company because I believe that too. I might go on to say that even with revelation I cannot fully comprehend.. His ways are higher than my ways, and like Paul, I am seeing through a murky window, but it won't be long and I will know HIm a lot better. Kind of exciting just thinking about it.
We can "know Christ" without reading a single line in the Bible.....but we cannot fully understand Him apart from that revelation. That is what Torrance believes -- and he is in good company.Jd
