what we are called to do and what we actually accomplish are two different things, in this case.

So says John Smithson, but the apostle John says, "as he is, so are we in 
this world" (1 John 4:17) and also, "He that saith he abideth in him ought 
himself also so to walk, even as he walked."  Who should I believe?  I 
choose to believe the apostle John.
