My belief DaveH is that according to scripture the Godhead consists of God the Father, God the Word,
and God the Holy Spirit.  The man Jesus is God the Word who by the eternal Spirit was born into a body of
flesh and blood in the likeness of man.  I have never stated that Jesus during his earthly ministry was "fully
God" because scripture tells us that He (Jesus) layed aside the glory He had with the Father and emptied
Himself so that He might come here as an example for us of how we should walk.  If He came as "fully God"
then being conformed to His Image would be an impossibility for us mere mortals since God is transcendent.
But He knows our frame.  judyt

DAVEH:   Do you believe Jesus is currently fully God?  I'm rather interested in knowing when you think Jesus became fully God, Judy.  My reason for asking is because I'd like to know if you think there is (or was) ever a time when one could view the face of Jesus and live, rather than die IF they had seen God's face.   Does that make sense, Judy?   I'm just trying to sort out in my mind what and how you perceive God and Jesus being one, and being fully God.  (I think I may be making this question more complicated than necessary....sorry if that's the case.)

Not in the way that you do DaveH, but then my understanding of God the Father differs from yours also
so I'm sure this does not surprise you.  Apart from out and out athiests everyone has a God that
they believe to be the real one and noone will be validated until we stand before Jesus himself and he
tells us which side we are to go to..

I met an Australian Nun on a train in Australia, she had been working with the Australian aborigines for
40yrs in Darwin and Alice Springs as a missionary for the RCC ... She repeated Pope John Paul's words
and told me about the wonderful advances being made, how indiginous tribes all believe on some level that
there is a God and how they do their dances and perform their cleansing smoke rituals at the Church
conventions they have which are ecumenical to the extreme.  Merging cultures is where it's at.

She would not call the aborigines animists (which they are) and talked of finding the commonalities of all
religions (Islam, Buddhism, Shinto etc.) so as to blend them - because all believe there is a God.  So this
Nun has been sent to Melbourne now to teach these classes at the University level and when I questioned
some of her assumptions this nice lady quoted Jesus words: "In my Fatherhouse house there are many
mansions" - So now paganism is added to the mix.  Only problem is that noone gets to the mansions
or dwelling places outside of Christ.  You would think that God messed up when He judged and destroyed
the Canaanite Nations wouldn't you?  Now iniquity is abounding and confusion reigns.  The love of many
has waxed cold.  All like sheep have gone astray and turned everyone to his own way.   judyt

DAVEH:   While on the way to work yesterday morning, I was listening to a Christian radio station that was playing a sermon given by a minister who spent some time explaining that Jesus was fully God.  That got me thinking about how he could be fully God, and yet not be fully God if people saw his face and did not die.  So....do you believe he was fully God, Judy?  From your below answer, I assume not.

However.....I assume you now believe he is fully God?  Assuming such, when (or perhaps I should say, at what point) do you believe he became fully God???

Easy ... Jesus did not come to earth as God. He took upon himself the form of a servant (Phil 2:6). He first layed
aside the "glory" he had with the Father.  Truth is truth. No man can look at God's face and live.... You saw
what happened to Uzzah when he tried to steady the ark didn't you? or did you?  judyt

Common sence must be used here.If God had said" Moses met him face to face" and left it there then you would have support for your Hypotisis but God didn't leave it there-He explained -no man can see his face and live. No problem with that here

DAVEH:   To me it leads to a major problem for many Christians.  I can only assume that you believe many people saw Jesus' face.  Yet it seems a contradiction if you believe Jesus was fully God, and yet people could see him and live.   How do you explain that paradox, Dean?
