The pain caused by the Lord as he was tortured on the cross however, was caused by his enemies.
He bore our sins.
By the Cross he RECONCILED His Enemies unto Himself.
His enemies are not those other guys
You need to recognize that you and your sin are His enemy

DAVEH: I don't think you quite understand the LDS perspective, Dean. It is not a matter of us not liking the cross, but rather it is more an understanding of what the cross did to our beloved Savior. It is similar in a sense to the great pain our sins brought the Lord when he atoned for them. Only, that pain is due to our sins, which makes us sad that he would need to suffer that much in our behalf.
