We often agree not to put more technology into Tryton then pure Python and XML. So I find this is the right way.
About the naming: tryton-download is the better name for me. get-tryton or tryton-get is even better IMHO. But I don't like to have maintenance for two 'dev-scripts' for deploing Tryton. For me the new python one is absolutely enough, since in future it could be extended to Windows and MacOS X. About our relation to the several off-project manuals and howtos: These documents should not and can not maintained by Tryton project, IMHO. For example the http://debian.asconix.com/tryton-debian-lenny-howto seems unmaintained. Me and others wrote enough comments, but the author doesn't update the howto. Another one forked this manual to http://nanji.de/blog/dev/tryton-erp-unter-debian-50-lenny-quick-dirty-fur-anwender/ However, I strongly believe, one year later this document will be unmaintained, too. We can not do a lot of things against uncontrolled growth of external documentation. We could kindly ask the authors if they would like to contribute to the tryton documentation. I had this discussion several times with less success. So IMHO we should not make any external documentation affecting Tryton development in any case. There is no reason strong enough for me, to take care about external docs which are not maintained by us.
