It depends but Tryton is a framework to let you build easily your business
application. Sometimes the existing modules are enough, sometimes not.

There is Python module dbfpy [2] that can read dBase file. I already use it to
extract some data from a dBase file.
So in combination with Proteus, I guess it must be doable.
