Thanks Ivan, the virtualenv approach is what I have used on the server
side, but on the client side I've generally been deploying through
Synaptic on Linux clients or using the .exe installer on Windows.  I
shall try the same approach for the client on my notebook.

A quick google search has revealed you have written some content on this
topic, and on the server side I have also received direction on using
virtualenv for Trtyton installations through Sharoon at OpenLabs.
Perhaps consolidating information on the use of virtualenv to maintain
multiple versions of the client and/or server simultaneously on one host
would be something we could think about--the documentation through
tryton.org does not have much to say on the subject specifically.
