When you do the invoice in USD, you must of course also include all
associated imbursable shipment costs in USD, as the client's order will be
handled in USD. On a short term, you may solve this by simply adding a
product 'transport/shipment costs' and 'insurance' (if applicable) to your
invoice. This way you keep it in USD. However, the drawback is that you
cannot integrate this in FIFO calculations, as far as I understand.

To integrate it in FIFO control, we would need to be able to assign the
corresponding daily exchange rate to it. Once the payment is made and
probably switched to house currency (EUR), you would settle the difference
on the books. In bookkeeping you can choose in IFRS at least to calculate
this on the billing date or on the actual exchange date.

You need the FIFO to control your variable costs, right? Not simply for
billing, I assume.

Kind regards,
Denis
