I am in need of an "issue tracking system" integrated with Products (referencing a specific product), Stock (referencing a specific lot or serialized item), and Projects (referencing a specific project). Does anyone know of an existing module that could be used? A more generalized module would also be suitable, e.g. also integrating customers, vendors, sales orders, purchase orders, shipping orders, etc.
If you're not familiar with the concept, an issue tracking system is essentially a generalized software bug tracker. In addition to the association with product, stock or project, an issue includes a title, description, priority, status, reporter name, assignee name, threaded comments, description of resolution, etc. Issue Tracking Systems go by a number of names, some of which are Non-Conformance System, Non-Conformance Reporting (NCR) System, Corrective Action System, CARPAR (Corrective Action Report / Preventative Action Report) System, and FRACAS (Failure Reporting And Corrective Action System). Also, in addition to it being good practice for a business to track issues and their resolution, ISO-9001 certification generally an issue tracking system to be in place as part of the organization's Quality Management System (although it could be just a list maintained on paper).
