That's strange to change the accounting to do customer behavior tracking. Maybe you should have a look at the analytic accounting or it could be just done with reporting as it seems to be linked to a period. > > 2. It is possible to change the current behavior but I doubt it will be done on the base because it is not what most users are expecting. More over you are just looking at the receivable which doesn't provide any good hints for a company.
