You'll probably need the FBSET package also... I had some 2.4 with FB - and they needs these tools.
(In my memory, the package was available in community contribs)


Then you should be able to use the "vga=xyz" option in your favorite bootloader ;)

For info :
vga=788 (800x600)
vga=791 (1024x768)

Tom, You'll also need to enable "framebuffer on virtual console" (CONFIG_FRAMEBUFFER_CONSOLE=y) option in the kernel.
