Hi all,
I'm preparing a Trustix 2.2 box as a firewall.
It is meant to be used by unexperienced people. The problem is that they will require to turn the system off sometimes, and I can't ask them to login and put commands at the prompt.
So i was wondering: is there a way to enable the system to cleanly shutdown just by pressing the poweroff button? Security is not a problem, as the poweroff switch is protected by a lock.
Thanks in advance

Mattia

you can edit inittab line:
ca::ctrlaltdel:/sbin/shutdown -t3 -r now
in
ca::ctrlaltdel:/sbin/shutdown now

Great!
I haven't thought to a such simple solution... :-)
I believe I'll leave ctrlaltdel for reboot, and associate ctrl + alt + end for shutdown.
Now I just have to get familiar with kbrequest.
Thanks to everyone for the answers.

Bye

Mattia
