Hi list, on a few servers (TSL 2.0 and 2.2) I noticed that fcron stopped working this night at 04.00. The log ends with:
May 6 03:01:00 mail fcron[9396]: Job run-parts /etc/cron.hourly started for user root (pid 9397) May 6 03:01:01 mail fcron[9396]: Job run-parts /etc/cron.hourly completed May 6 04:01:00 mail fcron[9463]: Job run-parts /etc/cron.hourly started for user root (pid 9464) May 6 04:01:01 mail fcron[9463]: Job run-parts /etc/cron.hourly completed May 6 04:02:00 mail fcron[9468]: Job run-parts /etc/cron.daily started for user root (pid 9469) May 6 04:09:16 mail fcron[9468]: Job run-parts /etc/cron.daily completed No entries in the log since then. service fcron status shows: fcron (pid 10204 9468 9456 11391) is running... ps aux on the pid's above: root 10204 0.0 0.0 0 0 ? Z May06 0:00 [fcron] <defunct> root 9468 0.0 0.0 0 0 ? Z May06 0:00 [fcron] <defunct> root 9456 0.0 0.0 0 0 ? Z May06 0:00 [fcron] <defunc root 11391 10.9 0.0 1628 360 ? R Apr07 5122:54 fcron After a restart of fcron, all works fine. I had this issue on 4 out of 23 servers.
