I'm clueless... but to be nice, I'll just explain that Marignan was a
big battle between Francois 1er, king of France, and the Swiss troops.
France won, and for some reason this battle that didn't have that much
strategic importance has become the one and only event of French
history that just every person in France knows and can tell the year,
from the younger schoolchild to the oldest person. Do the test: if you
ever go to France, say "Marignan" to the first French citizen you
meet: if he/she doesn't respond "1515" immediately, I owe you a bottle
of French wine :-) (alternate test: shout "1515" and you'll get
"Marignan" replied to you)

(My God... this is badly off-topic, isn't it?)

Greets,
_Alain_
