If I'm ever going to contribute to a Linux distribution again, it will be a distribution I actually enjoy using. I haven't used Trustix since the early fall of 2005, and am really having trouble constructing a scenario where TSL would be a better choice than Ubuntu. Not because of politics, but because TSL does not offer anything I don't get from my distribution of choice. TSL is that much limited in flexibility and availability of software. > btw..i dont think the new tsl team are bad guys :) they just had been put in > a bad situation caused by a bad commercial decision... The are not bad guys. They are really nice guys that I've come to care about. They have, however, extremely limited man-power, and not that much experience. In the end they are trying to fix a product that will never be able to compete with larger commercially sponsored distributions, like Ubuntu, simply because of the massive lack in experienced developers and active user community. And let's face it... A user community of 50 active members really doesn't qualify. Sorry, I would love for TSL to be a really relevant distribution, but it's long since I understood that it never will be. :) > also... all nice distributions are user contributed.. so why not tsl ?? why > sit down and just wait the release to come out ? do something! You are asking the wrong question.. The right question would be "Why do we need another Linux distribution?". If anyone care to answer that question in details, I would be very much enlightened. ;) c -- Christian Haugan Toldnes Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle _______________________________________________ tsl-discuss mailing list tsl-discuss@lists.trustix.org http://lists.trustix.org/mailman/listinfo/tsl-discuss
