(looked at ubuntu today, only found iso images, dropped it) Okay I didn't look into the ubuntu iso, but to say if you see only isos you can't use pxe is wrong. The tinysofa classic iso has a directory with a kernel and initrd just for pxe. Mount the iso image with loop, change yout tftpd base dir to the directory and you are ready.
