Speaking of help with installs, I've heard that there is still massive interest in getting Linux installed on personal boxen. Okay, maybe not massive, but there are 3 people who have inquired about it. I see 3 options: 1) Do some installs at meeting(s) 2) Have a mini-install fest 3) Help them individually
Of course, we could say, "Tough luck," but I don't think that's a viable option. I don't see how option 1 would be any more disruptive than surfing the web during meetings :) What do you think? Also, dues are due soon. $15 because it's between $10 and $20. These math skills are what I came to college for. Don't forget to check out the FreeSoftware MiniCD Don's been kind enough to put together, as he says, >It would be a good time for some feedback. If you have a burner, >you can get the .iso from > http://vh224401.truman.edu/pub/linux/tslug/freecd.iso >You can also get it from this public Windows share: > \\vh224401\pub >If you just want to see the interface, open: > http://vh224401.truman.edu/pub/linux/tslug/freecd/doc/ There may be a snafu with the t-shirts et al. It was brought to my attention at the last meeting that the top ten list may be upside down. Is this everyone's opinion? It's not hard to change, so don't be shy - like I said earlier, these numerical skills are Truman's fault, not mine. Finally, next meeting will be featuring Dr. Beck and his talk about Rebuilding the Linux Kernel. He will actually be doing it as he explains it, so we should end up with a rebuilt kernel by the end of the talk(!). See you next week, Nate Donald J Bindner wrote: >I recommended that this fellow bring his Laptop on Wednesday.
