I wanted to build an up to date tup for Windows and followed the
instructions I've found here:

Everything seemed to work up to the point of
* 169) src/dllinject: MINGW32CC dllinject.c
/bin/sh: 0: Illegal option -g
*** tup errors ***
*** Command ID=1659 failed with return value 2
tup error: Expected to write to file 'dllinject.omingw32' from cmd 1659
but didn't
Any ideas of where to look from here?
I'm running Ubuntu 15.04 64bit. The MinGW gcc says
$ x86_64-w64-mingw32-gcc --version
x86_64-w64-mingw32-gcc (GCC) 4.9.2
