Yep, it's still very much alive. The time I have to work on it comes
in waves, so there will be batches of commits some weeks and then
periods that appear to lack activity.

As for handling inputs outside of the .tup hierarchy, you could try
the updater.full_deps option, or perhaps just call 'tup init' at the
level you want to maintain dependencies, even if you're only using it
to build one subdirectory.

Sorry I am not responsive to the pull requests - I know that can be
frustrating. I'll try to find some time soon for them.
