I've rebuilt maven from CVS (1.0-rc2-SNAPSHOT), and the error is still there. Looking at it again, your explaination doesn't buy me. I've looked at the manifest for fulcrum-crypto-api and there are not comma separated lists. On the other hand the error message is clear: NumberFormatException for input string "0-alpha-4". It seems that somewhere inside avalon extension the parsing of version strings is not that flexible. After some browsing I've not been able to find where in the cvs repository is stored org/apache/avalon/extension/Extension.java, I'd like to take a look at the code: what module should I checkout ?
