Ok, I do know that Jason plans on making the <jar> tag go bye-bye. Its a hack. The jar file will be named after the dependency and the version of that dependency. I have a feeling that this should be kept separate because it'll make the dep graph stuff jason is working on easier. If the only benefit is to save typing the data in the POM, when we write the GUI app to generate the POM, this could be automated and this becomes a moot point.
