Not really, although I think a nested list of <role> elements would be
more appropriate than an single element. As it stands, if a developer
participates in the project in more than once capacity you have to glom
them all together in one text blob.
I'd prefer to see

<name>Me</name>
...
<roles>
<role>Developer</role>
<role>Project Manager</role>
<role>CSS Guru and all around nice guy</role>
</roles>
</developer>
I'd be willing to do that tonight if everyone else is okay with it (I'm
not going to suggest that big a change to an idea and not be willing to
do it myself).
I like Martin's idea, I just think its not as complete as it could be.
