I agree, but I think the fileset solution would solve it regardless of one 
or many directories.

Perhaps, that would alleviate the problem some.  However, I'm still not
convinced that we should have more than one source directory.  What do
others think about multiple source directories?  I'm not referring to
the separate test directories as those are clearly needed, just the main
source directory.
