You do not have to switch completely to Fulcrum. You can use the fulcrum security service only and continue to use all the turbine 2 services.

To generate the documentation, try: maven site

Q: Can anybody who has successfully added fields to any of the
Turbine-Security-classes and/or added a new table to turbine-schema.xml
outline the major steps that I have to do, please?

Your best bet will be to look at Henning's DBSecurityService in
fulcrum cvs
head. This should allow you to extend all of the tables and thus
provide a
basis for what you are attempting to do.
Thanks, Scott, I checked out Fulcrum from CVS.
But where can I find advise how to implement this SecurityService module
into my 2.2b3-based app?
Do I have to switch completely to the decoupled Fulcrum?
Is this a smooth process? I read on the list people ran into trouble trying
to solve this.

I have another problem: how do I generate readable doc from the xdoc-files?
