Hi All,
(B
(BApologies in advance for the long post, but I wanted to make it clear
(Bthat I have thoroughly searched the archives, and failed to solve my
(Bproblem. I also wanted to make sure that I linked to all the relevant
(Burls for anyone who happens to follow in my path
(B
(BSo is anybody successfully using Turbine and PostGreSql? I've managed to
(Bget the tdk newapp to build after adjusting the postgre templates in
(Bvarious strategic locations. However I can't get the runtime version to
(Bfully operate.
(B
(BThere is a history of these problems
(B
(Bhttp://nagoya.apache.org/eyebrowse/SearchList?listId=&[EMAIL PROTECTED]&searchText=%22Failed+to+create+account%22&defaultField=body&Search=Search
(B
(BAnd I believe I have read pretty much all the relevant mails describing
(Bthe main runtime problem whith involved failures to create new user
(Baccounts that result in an error that looks something like this the
(Berror I have attached to the end of this mail.
(B
(BNow there are various mails suggesting this problem is related to the
(Bpostgres jdbc driver, and there is even a howto file regarding it
(B
(Bhttp://jakarta.apache.org/turbine/turbine-2/howto/postgres-howto.html
(B
(BThe page above talks about a patch that can be applied to a postgre
(Bdriver. I have looked in the more recent versions of the postgres jdbc
(Bdriver and it seems that this patch is no longer relevant - fair enough,
(Bas the page also suggests that the new jdbc drivers should fix things.
(BIt also suggests making sure that one is using the latest version of the
(Bvillage jar file, which I believe is 1.5.3 and is available here;
(B
(Bhttp://share.whichever.com/index.php?SCREEN=village
(B
(BOne of the mails even includes a link to a postgres driver that
(Ballegedly works.
(B
(BI have tried this and a variety of other postgres jdbc drivers including
(Bon that I use with the standalone version of Torque. Since some of these
(Bthese postgres jdbc drivers come as part of packages I don't precisely
(Bwhich jdbc drivers I have tested
(B
(Bhttp://jdbc.postgresql.org/
(B
(Bbut I am fairly certain I have tested the two most recent version 7.2
(Band 7.3
(B
(BTo cut a long story short - nothing has worked. I've been trying this on
(Bmy own win2000 box and my friend on his Linux box, but the story seems
(Bto be the same in both cases.
(B
(BI would very much appreciate it if someone could let me know if they
(Bhave managed to get Turbine (or particularly the tdk newapp) to work
(Bwith Postgre, and if so, precisely which driver and which platform they
(Bachieved it on.
(B
(BThanks in advance.
