Hi, as far as i am concerned. if you would like to use the skinning mechanism within Turbine I would rather use the $ui pulltool for this, since it is possible to store a value for a skin inside a users permanent storage, and then use this information to retrieve the necessary css files and images. please refer to the java docs for the pull tool which can be found here:
http://jakarta.apache.org/turbine/turbine-2.2.1/apidocs/org/apache/turbine/ services/pull/util/UIManager.html The Structure for these resources to work is tomcat_home/webapps/resources/ui/ default/images If you want a new skin, simply create a new directory with the themes name, and put all the necessary information into this dir. You can use the $ui.setSkin(String skinName) Method to apply the theme. kind regards Jrgen Hoffmann On Saturday 03 January 2004 00:15, Gavin wrote: > Chris > > For using the css try this in you template: > $page.setStyleSheet("$content.getURI('/style_IE5.css ')") > > Regarding the $page tool it's a request tool defined in your > TurbineResource.properties file, it is an instance of > org.apache.turbine.util.template.TemplatePageAttributes so check out those > API's for more info ;o) > > Gavin Barron B.Sc. > J2EE Developer > Genix Systems Ltd > http://www.genixsystems.com/ > > "Never underestimate the bandwidth of a station wagon full of hard drives" > -----Original Message----- > From: Chris Joelly [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Sent: Tuesday, 23 December 2003 4:29 a.m. > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: docs for turbine 2.2 > > Hello! > > has anybody a good source of dokumentation for turbine 2.2? > > for thinks like how to set and how to place css files? i tried > $page.setStyleSheet("/style_IE5.css") in my Default.vm and placed it in > the webapp root directory, but it isn't found... > > has anybody some hints for this things? can css files used with the ui > tool as part of skins? > > thx, Chris --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
