Just a curiousity ... right now alot of effort (for my team at least) goes into
this part of a solution.

I agree with Jeff on this ... being recoginzed as a contributor is a great form
of remuneration. I suspect that most people spend alot more time benefitting
from and admiring the work of folks like the Turbine team, Jakarta team, etc. I
also agree that some sort of developer profile ( 'developer of the month club'?
;-) ) might be an idea to explore. I thought the Sun 'expose' on the Blackdown
team was interesting. Though I see that as more of a way to enhance a community
feeling. What about 'Apache-Ware'? I'm not sure if such a thing even exists but
people seem to like 'logo-fied' t-shirts, caps and such... a Turbine bumper
sticker perhaps. :o)
