The Java language spec "suggests" that you use a FQDN. Going outside of that
spec really isn't worth it.

If you use a IDE or have a nice build system (such as Ant), having the
directory paths really isn't that big of a deal. Neither of these conditions
are that much to ask for IMHO. :-)
